Wildlife Visitors Near Oceanfront Home

Closeness to both ocean and woods, in a private setting, provides many opportunities for wildlife viewing. The occasional moose sighting is a real treat! These three young moose wandered down the driveway several times in the spring of 2007. Eagles are regular visitors, and, of course, a great variety of seabirds, ravens, and songbirds in season. Once in a while, foxes are sighted; one winter day provided an extended opportunity to view a fox couple on the ledges.

Whitetail deer are frequent coastal visitors. Snowshoe hares sometimes appear in the yard, or in the nearby blueberry fields along the road. Wildlife sightings add a special dimension in this natural environment.
